Mental Health Coaching

Navigating college life and adulthood can be exciting but also challenging.  Stress is a common part of these life experiences. If you’re dealing with stress or emotional issues and facing long wait times for in-person therapy or professional counseling, mental health coaching appointments can be a valuable alternative. We offer support you need both in person and virtually.

Mental health coaching can be a valuable resource for individuals seeking to improve their mental and emotional well-being, develop healthy habits, and achieve personal and professional goals.

Mental health coaching is a specialized form of coaching that focuses on helping individuals make positive changes in their lives, particularly related to their mental and emotional well-being. Mental health coaches work with clients to identify and modify behaviors, habits, and thought patterns that may be affecting their mental health, overall well-being, and quality of life. Goal-Oriented

Mental health coaching is goal-oriented. Clients work with coaches to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals related to their mental health and well-being.

Client-Centered

Coaches tailor their approach to the unique needs and goals of each client. The coaching process is highly individualized.

Holistic Approach

Mental health coaching often takes a holistic approach, addressing multiple aspects of a person's life, including lifestyle, relationships, stress management, and coping strategies..

Behavior Modification

The primary focus is on identifying and modifying behaviors that may be contributing to mental health challenges. This may include addressing issues like stress eating, procrastination, negative self-talk, and more.

Motivational Support

Coaches provide motivational support and encouragement to help clients stay committed to their goals, especially during challenging times.

Skill Development

Clients are taught various skills and techniques to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. This may include relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.

Accountability

Coaches hold clients accountable for the goals they've set, helping them track progress and make adjustments as needed.

Self-Awareness

Mental health coaching often involves helping clients develop greater self-awareness about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as the impact of these on their mental health.

Positive Psychology

Mental health coaches help you to focusing on strengths, resilience, and promoting overall well-being and life satisfaction.

Mental Health Support

While behavioral health coaching is not a substitute for therapy or counseling, it can be a helpful complement. Coaches are often trained to recognize when clients may benefit from more specialized mental health services and can make appropriate recommendations/referrals.

Confidential and Supportive

Coaching sessions are typically confidential and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to discuss their challenges and progress.
